Following the newest update from the Government of Alberta, the Morinville Community Library is following the removal of COVID restrictions. This also means we no longer require masks in the library.
Our curbside pickup service is still available for anyone who is not comfortable inside the library, prefers not to wait when we reach our capacity limit, or simply wants to take advantage of the convenience. Our popular Personal Picks book bundles are also available for request via this service.
The process:
Library cards and memberships can now be renewed remotely by phone as well as in person.
Library cards/memberships can be renewed over the phone by calling 780-939-3292 during normal operating hours and providing a credit card number for payment. In order to maintain your security, we cannot take payment by email or online.
Membership/renewal fees are as follows:
Children (0-5): FREE with parent/guardian membership
Youth (6-17): $10.00
Adult (18-64): $15.00
Senior (65+): $10.00
Family (all household members): $25.00
Please note that Legal residents are subject to a $50 non-resident fee, which can be reimbursed by the Town of Legal. Please ask staff for a written receipt in order to be reimbursed.
If you do not already have a library card with Morinville or another TRAC library, you can apply online using our New Card Application Form below. Please be advised that this is only the first step in getting a new card, and MCL staff members will be in contact with next steps such as payment and library card info after you submit.
Our public computers are still available to use as long as we are under our 15-person capacity limit. We request that you not use them for gaming during this time, to keep them free for those wishing to use them for other purposes.
If you would like to ensure a slot for public computer use, please call the library at 780-939-3292 to book an appointment.
If our in-library capacity limit is reached, we can also provide our printing, faxing, scanning, and photocopying services by curbside.

Our indoor, in-person programs have been suspended. Many of our programs are already being provided online; if they are not mentioned here, there have been no changes. For a full list of our current programming offerings, please see our Programs page.
Free preschool-level Cozy Corner Craft Kits can be picked up in person at the library or requested during your curbside pickup appointment. New craft kits and how-to videos are posted weekly on Wednesdays.
Cozy Corner Storytime will be held outside at the Rotary Park if the weather is good and on Zoom if it isn't. Please head to the Cozy Corner Storytime page to join us!
