Restrictions Lifted

Following the newest update from the Government of Alberta, the Morinville Community Library is following the removal of COVID restrictions. This also means we no longer require masks in the library.

Curbside Pickup

Our curbside pickup service is still available for anyone who is not comfortable inside the library, prefers not to wait when we reach our capacity limit, or simply wants to take advantage of the convenience. Our popular Personal Picks book bundles are also available for request via this service.

The process:

  • Book your appointment online (below) or by phoning during our normal operating hours. If you can't get an appointment, give us a call and we may be able to accommodate you! (Please note it's easier for us to do this if you give us at least an hour's notice ahead of time.)
    • Let us know what you want to pick up. You can pick up holds that have come in for you and/or anything that is currently on our shelves. You can choose your own by browsing the catalogue or you can tell us some favourite authors or subjects and let us choose a Book Bundle for you.
    • Check what's on our shelves by browsing my-mcl.info/catalogue and choosing items with "Local Availability 1 (of 1)".
  • Come to the library back parking lot at your appointment time and either give us a call or ring the doorbell to let us know you're here.
  • We will bring you out a bag with your books already checked out for you and a receipt with the due dates.
  • Return your items when you are done with them at the Returns Dropbox on the east side of the building. Please do not use the mailbox at the front door. This is the Town of Morinville's mailbox and not meant for book returns. We will have to charge if items are damaged after being put in the front door mailbox.

Printing and Computers

Our public computers are still available to use as long as we are under our 15-person capacity limit. We request that you not use them for gaming during this time, to keep them free for those wishing to use them for other purposes.

If you would like to ensure a slot for public computer use, please call the library at 780-939-3292 to book an appointment.

If our in-library capacity limit is reached, we can also provide our printing, faxing, scanning, and photocopying services by curbside.

The process:

  • Book an appointment to pick up your printing or drop off your photocopy or fax at my-mcl.info/curbside.

    • Document to be printed

    • Your phone number
  • Come to the library back parking lot and either give us a call or ring the doorbell to let us know you're here.
  • If faxing, scanning, or photocopying, you will need to wait by the back door for us to complete your transaction inside the library.
  • Please note that we are only able to take debit or credit payments of $1.00 or over. Anything under $1.00 will need to be in cash.
