Step 1: Get Started

Get your Summer Reading Program starter kit!

Starting Monday, July 5, you can pick up your starter kit at the library or book a curbside appointment at For the first week, you’ll get an Intro Bag with everything you need for the full Summer Reading Olympics experience.

The intro bag contains:

  • Reading log
  • Week 1 craft
  • Scavenger Hunt Bingo Card

Step 2: Get Going

Track your Reading

You can start tracking your reading on Monday, July 5 - minutes read or submitted before that day don't count!

Colour one square in your booklet for every 15 minutes you read. You can update your reading minutes as often as you want by going to You can keep track of your team's progress day by day with the Reading Team Stats.

Step 3: Get Prizes

Reading Prizes

Every 15 minutes you read, you can colour in a square on your podium. Start at the smallest (bronze) podium and work up from there.

Once you've finished a podium, come to the library and pick up a medal for your character to wear. You can collect as many as your character can fit - finishing the gold podium just means you grab a new reading log and start again!

As well as reading for yourself and your character, you are also reading for your team. You'll have gotten a bookmark giving you Team Run, Team Swim, or Team Bike.

You can submit your minutes online or at the library, and they'll help your team toward victory! Every 15 minutes you read gets you more chances to win a prize at the end of the summer.

We also have bigger prizes for:

  • Reading participation (draw prize)
  • Members of the winning team
  • Top readers of each age category
    • Preschool - under 6
    • Elementary - ages 6-11
    • Teen - ages 12-17
    • Adult - ages 18 and up

Submit all your minutes at by Sunday August 22, 11:59 pm to be in the running for the bigger prizes!

Video Viewing

Every Monday, we’ll post a video on Facebook and Youtube showing you how to make the craft.

The videos will stay up all summer and we'll keep some extra craft kits around, so if you miss a week, you can always catch back up!

Find a Location

  • To fill in your card, go to the location that the clue leads to and find our box (twist-top Tupperware) of stickers. It'll have our logo on it, so you'll know it's us!
  • Grab a sticker and place it on the clue. Every sticker is different, so make sure you only grab one and put it in the correct place on your bingo card.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the recent windstorm, some of our outdoor Tupperwares won't be findable! If you visit a location and can't find the stickers, come to the library and let us know where you went and we'll give you a sticker for your card.

Enter a Draw

  • Each category (column) that you complete is one entry into a draw. You can enter the draw up to 6 times - once for every category/column you complete and one bonus entry for a filled out card! The more of the scavenger hunt you complete, the more chances you have to win.
  • To enter, bring your card into the library and show a staff member that you have completed a row with the correct answers or take a picture of your card on your phone and submit it to our Google form.
  • The scavenger hunt can be completed whenever you would like throughout the summer. We will not do the draw until the very last day of the Summer Reading Program, so take your time exploring our town, getting outside, and supporting local!

Team Progress

When you get your reading log, you also get a team: Team Run, Team Bike, or Team Swim.

Every time you submit your reading minutes, either online or at the library, they will help your team to victory! Here's where you can see how your team is doing (and if you need to get reading to help them along)!
