Genealogy Programs at the Library

The study of genealogy covers a broad scope. In order to assist you in learning how to conduct your family history research we have broken our programs into two ongoing series: “Documenting Yourself – The Hows and Whys” and “Genealogy Skill Set – The Nuts and Bolts”.
The first step in researching your family history begins with you. In “Documenting Yourself – The Hows and Whys” you will learn how to identify items which are important to accurately documenting you and your family history, and how to properly care for and preserve them for future generations.
Many skills are required in conducting family history research. In “Genealogy Skill Set – The Nuts and Bolts” you will join us in learning how to conduct the search, identify resources, organize your records and acquire the required skills to ensure greater success in your journey.
Both series will include presentations, hands-on workshops and behind the scenes tours.
